D-Dimer Latex

D-Dimer Latex Test is intended for the rapid qualitative or semi-quantitative evaluation of circulating derivatives of cross-linked fibrin degradation products (XL-FDP) in human plasma.

During blood coagulation, fibrinogen is converted to fibrin by the activation of thrombin. The resulting fibrin monomers polymerize to form a soluble gel of non cross linked fibrin. The fibrin gel is then converted to cross-linked fibrin by thrombin activated factor VIII to form an insoluble fibrin clot. Production of plasmin, the major clot-lysing enzyme, is triggered when a fibrin clot is formed. Fibrinogen and fibrin are both cleaved by the fibrinolytic enzyme plasmin to yield degradation products from cross-linked fibrin contain D-Dimer. Therefore, Cross-linked fibrin degradation products (DL-FDP) are a specific marker of fibrinolysis.

Product Description

The Biorex Diagnostics D-Dimer Latex Test is a rapid qualitative and semi-quantitative assay for the detection of cross-linked fibrin degradation products (D-Dimer) in human plasma. It provides fast, reliable results to support the diagnosis and management of thrombotic disorders in hospitals, clinical laboratories, and point-of-care settings.

Key Features
• Rapid detection – results available within minutes
• Qualitative and semi-quantitative – allows assessment of D-Dimer levels
• High sensitivity – detects low levels of fibrin degradation products
• Versatile sample use – compatible with human plasma
• Easy to perform – no complex equipment required

Benefits
The D-Dimer Latex Test enables timely identification of thrombotic events, supports monitoring of anticoagulant therapy, and aids in the management of critical care patients. Its rapid workflow, high sensitivity, and ease of use make it ideal for hospitals, laboratories, and point-of-care settings, improving patient outcomes and supporting effective clinical decision-making.
