APTT Reagents

The Biorex Diagnostics APTT reagent is an in vitro diagnostic assay intended for use in determining activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and coagulation factor assays that are based on a modified APTT.

The activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) is used as a general screening test for the detection of coagulation abnormalities in the intrinsic pathway. The APTT is sensitive to deficiencies or abnormalities of factors VIII, IX, XI, XII, X and II, prekallikrein, high molecular weight kininogen (HMWK), and fibrinogen. APTT is also sensitive to inhibitors of blood coagulation such as lupus inhibitor and fibrin/fibrinogen degradation products. The APTT is the most widely used method for monitoring intravenous heparin anticoagulation therapy.

Product Description

The Biorex Diagnostics APTT (Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time) Reagent is an in vitro diagnostic assay for the quantitative assessment of coagulation function in human plasma. It provides fast, reliable evaluation of intrinsic and common coagulation pathways to support clinical decision-making in laboratories, hospitals, and haemostasis testing centres.

Key Features
• Quantitative assessment – measures intrinsic and common coagulation pathways
• High sensitivity – detects coagulation abnormalities and factor deficiencies
• Versatile use – compatible with manual or automated coagulometers
• Reliable monitoring – suitable for anticoagulant therapy, including heparin
• Standardised formulation – ensures consistent and reproducible results

Benefits
The APTT Reagent enables accurate evaluation of haemostasis, early detection of coagulation disorders, and effective monitoring of anticoagulant therapy. Its high sensitivity, reproducibility, and ease of use make it an essential tool for clinical laboratories, pre-surgical assessment, and patient management, supporting improved outcomes in diverse healthcare settings.
