Troponin-I

Cardiac Troponin I (cTnI) is a protein found in cardiac muscle with a molecular weight of 22.5 kDa. Troponin I is part of a three subunit complex comprising of Troponin T and Troponin C. Along with tropomyosin, this structural complex forms the main component that regulates the calcium sensitive ATPase activity of actomyosin in striated skeletal and cardiac muscle. After cardiac injury occurs, Troponin I is released into the blood 4-6 hours after the onset of pain. The release pattern of cTnI is similar to CK-MB, but while CK-MB levels return to normal after 72 hours, Troponin I remains elevated for 6-10 days, thus providing for a longer window of detection for cardiac injury.

The Biorex Diagnostics cTnI One Step Troponin I Test Device (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) is a simple test that utilizes a combination of anti-cTnI antibody coated particles and capture reagent to selectively detect cTnI in whole blood, serum or plasma. The minimum detection level is 0.5 ng/mL.

Product Description

The Biorex Diagnostics Troponin-I Rapid Test is a rapid immunochromatographic assay designed for the qualitative detection of cardiac Troponin I in whole blood, serum, or plasma. Troponin I is a highly specific biomarker of myocardial injury, and its early detection is crucial for the timely diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and other cardiac conditions. This rapid test provides fast, reliable results to support clinical decision-making in hospitals, clinics, emergency departments, and point-of-care settings. By enabling early detection of cardiac injury, it helps clinicians initiate prompt treatment, improve patient outcomes, and reduce the risk of complications associated with delayed diagnosis.

Key Features

  • Rapid Detection – Results are available within minutes, allowing timely clinical intervention.
  • High Sensitivity – Detects Troponin I at concentrations as low as 0.5 ng/mL, enabling identification of even minor myocardial injury.
  • Extended Detection Window – Capable of detecting Troponin I up to 10 days post-cardiac event, providing flexibility in patient testing.
  • Versatile Sample Types – Suitable for whole blood, serum, or plasma, making it adaptable for a wide range of laboratory and clinical workflows.
  • Simple and User-Friendly – Requires minimal training, with no specialised equipment needed, supporting rapid deployment in emergency and point-of-care scenarios.

Benefits

Routine use of the Troponin-I Rapid Test enhances the early recognition of myocardial injury, facilitating timely therapeutic intervention and improving patient prognosis. Its high sensitivity ensures reliable detection of Troponin I levels, even in the early hours after cardiac events, while the extended detection window allows ongoing monitoring during patient care. The test’s versatility in sample types supports flexible laboratory and bedside testing, reducing the need for multiple sample collection methods.

The rapid, easy-to-use format of the Biorex Troponin-I Rapid Test streamlines workflow in high-pressure environments such as emergency departments and cardiac units, enabling clinicians to make informed decisions quickly. By providing consistent, accurate, and reproducible results, it improves diagnostic confidence, supports efficient patient management, and contributes to better overall outcomes in cardiovascular care. Backed by Biorex Diagnostics’ expertise in in vitro diagnostics, this rapid test offers a dependable, cost-effective, and clinically relevant solution for early cardiac injury screening.
