Product Description
The Biorex Diagnostics ASO Assay is an in vitro diagnostic test for the quantitative determination of antistreptolysin O (ASO) antibodies in human serum. ASO antibodies are produced in response to streptolysin O, an extracellular toxin secreted by Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A streptococcus). Accurate measurement of ASO levels provides vital clinical information for the diagnosis of post-streptococcal infections and immune-mediated complications such as rheumatic fever and post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis (PSGN).
Key Features
• Quantitative measurement of ASO antibody titres in serum
• Supports diagnosis of rheumatic fever, PSGN, and other post-streptococcal complications
• Suitable for latex agglutination or haemolysis inhibition methods
• Compatible with automated analysers including Hitachi, Olympus, and Furuno/Daytona systems
• Reliable and reproducible performance across laboratories
Benefits
The Biorex ASO Assay enables accurate detection and monitoring of post-streptococcal illnesses. Its precision, reproducibility, and compatibility with multiple automated systems make it an essential tool for clinical diagnostics, patient management, and infectious disease research.
